Lisa Maria Franke is assistant professor in the Arabic and Islamic Studies section of the Department of Languages and Cultures. Her research and teaching concern contemporary Muslim majority societies (mainly in the 'Middle East'), with an emphasis on body politics, social dynamics, religious transformation and (literary) forms of expression.
