Fleur Helewaut is a family physician, medical educator and doctoral student at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Ghent University. In the medical curriculum she covers the topics of patient-physician communication and professional identity formation. Her doctoral thesis is about compassionate care and its implementation in medical education. The vision of medicine and care as an art to humanise healthcare is central to her work.
