Ihor Vitenko was trained and worked as a doctor in Ukraine, after which he followed a nursing course in Belgium. He has worked as a reference nurse for wound care at the Maria Middelares Hospital in Ghent and has been working since 2012 as a wound care specialist at the AZ Jan Palfijn in Ghent.
Since the outbreak of the war, Ihor and his colleagues have been supporting multiple hospitals in central Ukraine, helping both civilian casualties and wounded soldiers.
