Dr. Jonas Roelens is a historian with a focus on the history of deviant sexuality in the late medieval and early modern period. His PhD on sodomy in the Southern Netherlands was awarded with the Erik Duverger Prize and the PhD Cup in 2019. He teaches gender history at Ghent University and the Radboud University in Nijmegen. At KASK/HoGent he teaches art history from 1400 to 1750. He is co-author of a book in Dutch on the history of homosexuality in Belgium and is currently working on a new book that discusses Belgian art history from a queer perspective.
