Marleen Rensen is Senior Lecturer in Modern European Literature at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She wrote a PhD about French intellectuals in the interwar period (Lijden aan de tijd. Franse intellectuelen in het interbellum, Aspekt 2009). Her most recent research focuses on life writing and European identities, looking closey into the lives of French and German artists and writers in the 20th century. She is the author of many journal articles and book chapters, and the co-editor of volumes Transnational Perspectives on Artists's Lives (Palgrave, 2020) and Unhinging the National Framework. Perspectives on Transnational Life Writing (Sidestone, 2020).
