Martin Seeger is Professor of Thai Studies at the University of Leeds. From 1997-2000 he was ordained as a Theravada Buddhist monk in northern Thailand. He earned his MA and PhD from Hamburg University and is the author of "Gender and the Path to Awakening: Hidden Histories of Nuns in Modern Thai Buddhism."
