Rina Knoeff is professor of health and humanities at the University of Groningen. She is a specialist in the cultural history of medicine, health and the body. Recently she has turned to the history of healthy aeging with a special focus on the gender health gap and menopause. A conviction that medical history has a vital role in present-day practice and policymaking underpins her work for both the Groningen Centre for Health and Humanities and the Aletta Jacobs School of Public Health.
